Gas installations

It is important that gas appliances and gas installation pipe work are manufactured and installed to the correct standard and by competent persons. Persons installing gas appliances and gas installation pipe work should be trained and certificated to the industry standard. The Health and Safety Executive(HSE) require any person carrying out
work on a gas installation to be a member of a class of persons approved by the HSE. The body approved by the HSE in the UK to fulfill this role is CORGI. CORGI require operatives to have achieved a Certificate of Competence issued by Certification Bodies that conform to European Standard EN45013 and have been accredited by the UK Accreditation Service(UKAS). For information on the routes to CORGI registration contact CORGI.
